Cancer Diary - Part 10
Sep. 13th, 2018 11:19 amFive days after the operation I took off the surgical dressings.
The boob is yellow with bruising. The wound is curved which I'm sure is for aesthetic reasons. It looks pretty ugly as it still has ink and steristrips on it. After a chat with my mum I covered it up with a dry dressing held on with surgical tape so it didn't catch on my clothes.
The armpit wound is smaller than I thought. The dressing was large, but the wound is only a couple of inches long. I've left that uncovered as it doesn't get the same friction especially as I haven't tried putting on a bra. The steristrips will probably fall off quite quickly from that.
The breast cancer care nurse phoned me to ask how I was doing and to ask if I had enough paracetamol which I do. I'm only taking it first thing in the morning and last thing at night as it isn't sore all the time. It just twinges sometimes.
