A month or so ago I found a £20 note in the car park of a service station. I can't decide if I did the right thing in handing it in to one of the shops inside. It wouldn't have felt right to simply pocket it (if it had been £5 or less I might have done), even though there was very little chance of the owner returning to ask if it had been handed in. I suppose technically you're supposed to hand it in at the nearest police station, but this was a brief stop in the middle of a long journey and I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it.
